전시서문

• 경주솔거미술관 청년작가 기획전에 선정된 강재준 작가는 이번 <상상의 꽃> 전에 조립과 해체가 가능한 설치 조각 작품을 선보인다. 강재준 작가는 이 작품을 통해 자연의 순환에 대한 경험과 사유를 관객과 나누고자 한다.
• 1. 상상의 꽃 : Imagine Flowers
  '상상(想像)'은 생각의 모양을 의미합니다. 어린 시절 미술 시간에 가장 좋아했던 주제는 '상상화'였습니다. SF 영화 속 장면이나 꿈에서 실현 불가능한 일을 경험한 기억들이 손끝에서 그림으로 표현되곤 했습니다. 유년기의 추억을 떠올리며 자유 주제를 선택했을 때 가장 먼저 떠오른 것은 일상에서 마주하는 자연이었고, 그 안에서 파생된 나만의 상상 속 식물들을 표현하고자 했습니다.
  
  계절마다 피고 지는 꽃의 순환 구조는 이러한 주제를 잘 설명해 줍니다. 자연 속에서는 끊임없이 결합과 분해가 일어나며, 탄생과 소멸을 포함한 순환 과정이 존재합니다. 이러한 과정은 규칙적인 형태를 가지면서도 그 안에서의 변화와 흐름이 무수히 반복됩니다.
• 2. 휴식을 위한 가구 : Furniture for Relaxation
  어릴 적 가지고 놀았던 장난감 레고를 작품에 사용하여 유년기 시절의 추억이 깃든 가구를 제작하였습니다. 낡고 버려질 법한 플라스틱이지만 새로운 형태와 쓰임새로 재탄생한 것 입니다. 형태는 변하였지만, 레고라는 장난감이 나에게 남긴 의미는 변함이 없습니다. 자연은 시간이 흐르면서 변화하지만 과거의 양분으로 형태를 변화시켜 나가듯이, ‘휴식을 위한 가구’ 작업은 현재의 나에게 주는 선물이자 양분입니다.
  
  가구를 만듦에 있어서, 산 능선이 교차하는 지점의 능선의 모양과 다양한 꽃잎, 나뭇잎 등에서 영감을 얻어 사람이 앉을 수 있는 형태들을 만들었습니다. 자연스러운 형태를 추구하며, 목공 작업으로 만들어진 의자와 테이블은 관객이 체험할 수 장소가 됩니다.
  
  이 형태들은 서로 결합함에 따라 곡선의 교차가 생기는데, 이는 음과 양의 조화를 뜻하기도 합니다. 현재 이 공간, 이 의자에 앉아 있는 동안만큼은 잠시 일상을 잊고 즐거웠던 한 때를 떠올리며, 걱정과 근심이 없었던 나를 찾아가 보는 시간을 가져보시길 바랍니다.

• Kang Jae-joon, who was selected for the special exhibition of young artists at the Gyeongju Solgeo Museum, will present an installation sculpture that can be assembled and dismantled before "Flower of Imagination." Through this work, Kang Jae-joon intends to share his experiences and thoughts on the cycle of nature with the audience.
• 1. Imaginary Flower
  "想像" means the shape of a thought. My favorite subject in my childhood art class was "imaginary painting." I used to have scenes from science fiction movies or memories of experiencing things that were impossible to realize in my dreams. When I chose the free topic thinking back to my childhood memories, the first thing that came to mind was nature that I encountered in my daily life, and I wanted to express my own imaginary plants derived from them.
  
  This theme is well explained by the circulation structure of flowers that bloom every season. In nature, there are cycles, including birth and extinction, where bonds and decomposition occur constantly. These processes have a regular form, but the changes and flows within them are repeated countless times.
• 2. Furniture for relaxation
  created furniture with memories of childhood by using the toy Lego that he played with as a child in his artwork. It is an old and wasteful plastic, but it has been reborn with a new form and use. Its shape has changed, but the meaning of the toy Lego has left for me remains the same. Just as nature changes over time but changes its shape into the past, the work of 'Furniture for Rest' is a gift and nourishment to me today.
  
  In making furniture, the shape of the ridge at the intersection of the mountain ridges and various petals and leaves were inspired to create forms that a person can sit on. Pursuing natural forms, chairs and tables made of woodworking become places for the audience to experience.
  
  As these forms combine with each other, they create an intersection of curves, which also means a harmony of yin and yang. I hope you take some time to look at me, who was free from worries and worries, and forget about your daily life for a while while sitting in this space, this chair.
